David Lawrence Gallery, established in the mid 1980’s, has the singular focus of working with important artists. Exhibitions in the Gallery have been as far-reaching as: Dennis Hopper, R Crumb, Franz West, James Rosenquist, among many others. The Director, David Lawrence, has been instrumental in the development of, and the de-accession of several California collections.

"Andy Warhol/1964 Artforum" PRINT NOW AVAILABLE!!

Dennis Hopper famed Hollywood Actor/Fine Artist in 1988 for one time only in his career decided to produce large scale silkscreen versions of his iconic 1960's photography.  Done in extremely small editions with high quality printing by master printers, this image, "Warhol/Art Forum Cover" originally was the actual cover the artist did for the December 1964 issue of ArtForum Magazine.    There were four color variations done of this print published by the artist and Tony Sharfrazi Gallery in 1988.  The David Lawrence Gallery is proud to represent a complete set of the four color variations.  One of contemporary art's most iconic images of Andy Warhol at the Basel Art Fair, Hans Meyer Gallery displayed a thirty foot tall version of this image.

Two Undetermined  Lines, 1990,   A 32 Color Silkscreen - Hand-Painted in Oil Stick By the Artist. This is the most important print ever done by the artist, as it is the only print that he ever extensively hand painted.  This print was also done at the zenith of his short drawing period.  The hand painting is in oil-stick, his original drawing medium,  in addition this print is a thirty two color hand printed silkscreen.
